Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
Sorting Robotics, Inc. ("Sorting Robotics," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit sortingrobotics.com (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to information we collect through the Site. It does not apply to information collected offline or through any service that has its own privacy notice.
By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read this Policy. Where the law requires your consent to a specific activity, we rely on the choices described in the "Cookies and Tracking Technologies" and "Your California Privacy Rights" sections below.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Information you provide. When you submit a form on the Site, such as the contact or demo-request form or the return-on-investment calculator, we collect the information you enter. This may include your name, business email address, phone number, company name, the products you are interested in, the figures you enter into the calculator, and any message you send us.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our servers and certain cookies automatically record your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, the referring page, and the date and time of your visit. We use this information to operate, secure, and improve the Site.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. We and a limited set of service providers use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary and functional. Cookies required to load pages, remember your preferences, and keep the Site secure.
- Lead and contact forms (HubSpot). Pages that include a HubSpot form, such as the calculator, load HubSpot form software that may set cookies to operate the form and prevent duplicate submissions.
- Embedded maps (Google Maps). The contact page embeds a Google map so you can locate our facility. Loading that map causes your browser to contact Google, which may set its own cookies.
- Embedded video (YouTube).The press page can play YouTube videos. Video is loaded only after you click to play, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.
- Site analytics (Vercel). We measure aggregate page views and referring links using Vercel Web Analytics, provided by the hosting provider that already serves every page of the Site. It is cookieless: it stores no cookie and no identifier on your device, and it does not follow you to other websites. We also record that a demo request was submitted, along with the products selected and the production-volume range chosen, so we can tell which pages lead to enquiries. That record contains no name, email address, company, or message text.
- Page performance (Vercel). We measure how quickly pages load and become usable, using standard web performance timings such as how long the largest element takes to appear and how much the layout moves while loading. This uses Vercel Speed Insights, provided by the same hosting provider that already serves every page of the Site. It is cookieless: it stores no cookie and no identifier on your device, and it does not follow you to other websites. It records the timings and the page they were measured on, and nothing about you.
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or behavioral advertising analytics on the Site. The page analytics described above are first-party and cookieless and do not build a profile of you across other websites. If that changes, we will update this Policy and provide the choices required by law before those technologies operate.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, browser signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) do not change how the Site behaves today. Should we introduce advertising or sharing in the future, we will treat a GPC signal as a valid request to opt out.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your inquiries and provide demos, quotes, and support;
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
- send you communications you request or that relate to a transaction, and, where permitted, relevant marketing you can opt out of at any time;
- detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues; and
- comply with our legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
How We Share Your Information
We share personal information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Service providers. We use vendors that process information on our behalf under contract, including HubSpot (customer relationship management and forms), Google (embedded maps and video), Sanity (content management and delivery), Vercel (website hosting, first-party site analytics, and first-party page-performance measurement), Slack (internal team messaging, used to route a demo request to our sales team if our CRM is unavailable), Workable (job listings and applications), and Amazon Web Services (infrastructure). They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sorting Robotics, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
Your California Privacy Rights
This section applies to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, "CCPA"). In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, email address, and IP address); customer records (such as phone number and company); commercial information (such as products of interest); internet or network activity (such as pages viewed and interactions with the Site); approximate geolocation derived from IP address; and professional or employment information (such as company and role). We collect this information from you directly and automatically through the Site, and we use and disclose it for the purposes described above.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly collect the personal information of minors.
Subject to certain exceptions, California residents have the right to:
- know and access the personal information we have collected;
- request deletion of their personal information;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise a right, email us at privacy@sortingrobotics.com. We will verify your request, respond within the timeframes the law requires, and you may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
Data Retention and Security
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites and services we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy notices.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after an update takes effect indicates your awareness of the revised Policy.
